Tidy It Up Tuesday!

I know this is jumping the gun a little but I came across this image of a great way to store your ornaments if you celebrate Christmas. Egg cartons! So remember readers save those egg cartons after cooking breakfast for your friends and family!

And here is another way to store them as well...using plastic cups and a piece of carboard between each layer...much more inexpensive then purchasing the containers that have pre-divided sections.

Frame it!

So I am currently designing a living room for a family in Potomac, MD and they want an impact wall. We have decided to create a gallery wall using frames made out of old barn wood. I found the creator of these amazing frames on Etsy and he sells an array of sizes. We got 28 for $200...great deal! And the frames match perfectly with the home owners restoration hardware style.

Lot of 4 Flat Barnwood Picture Frames. 1 Each 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 & 11x14. Rustic....Weathered.

Here are some fabulous gallery walls! Always search out inspirations for your home!

You can mix up the frame styles or keep them uniform like we are!

Hey There

hey Notebook readers sorry for the absence!

So excited to share my DIY painted burlap euro pillow for a client! It is so easy...I know you all can do it at home! This is a perfect way to spruce up any room. And you can paint your mono on any old pillow to give it new life. Remember to use fabric paint so you can toss it in the wash!

Here is the finished pillow with no insert but you get the idea!

Red and Purple Stripe Picture Frame

The frame of the day is a bright and fun stripey guy. Love this foto of the day, which has been featured before, but since it is my sisters 27th birthday tomorrow I thought it was perfect to give her a big ol' cheers! Boy and I fly up tomorrow morning to celebrate with her! Happy Birthday Cater tot! This foto is of Aileen and Caitlin down at the beach of the rooftop...couldn't be more of a perfect pic!

Friday Finds...DIY Ornaments!

Happy Friday Notebook readers! Yesterday I blogged about DIY Ornaments...well last night I was glue gun happy and made a bunch for my orange, gray, white, and navy themed Christmas tree!

I purchased a large hole puncher

Heated up my glue gun

got out some ribbon to use as the hooks on my ornaments

punched out gray, white, and navy card stock with my new large hole puncher

purchased styrafoam balls

success!

After applying glue onto the Styrofoam ball I place a short length of ribbon then began gluing on the paper dots. For the yarn wrapped ornaments I used a small dot of glue and began wrapping the yarn until the ball was fully covered!

Once again sorry for the dark pics...I just asked boy for a nice new digi camera...hopefully it pops up in my stocking!
