Pop of trim

I am currently sewing some panels for a client that include emerald green velvet with gold tassels. Love the idea of adding trim to a piece to place a splash of surprise to the eye. Check out these other trim ideas for your everyday curtain!

Another fabric choice for your trim opens up endless opportunities!!!

Have you created your own curtain trim? We'd love to see it!!!

Knee deep in the water somewhere....

Hey Notebook readers! Happy Thursday! So I'm heading off to a family vacation. There may be a blog post or two but I'm pretty tough with myself when it comes to mixing work and pleasure! Not that my blog is work by any means but having an electronic device in front of me takes away from family time.

We are headed to Fire Island, NY. Quiet walkways and beautiful beaches I can't wait to get these tootsies in the sand and relax! Here is a pic I found of the Fire Island lighthouse that my godfather reopened after years and years if it being closed down. Ahhhhhhhh so excited!

Rags to Riches

This bench has seen better days!!! But with a quick slip cover and a fresh coat of white paint it will freshen up any space!

I'm loving the use of white! It keeps it clean and monotone. This bench is for a clients husband who puts on his shoes here...you could add a pop of color if you want with a fun throw pillow! This white slip cover is a perfect way to keep things clean too! Just a toss in the wash and it's back to brand new!

From brown to bois!

Check out this dresser I completed for a client! I used a faux bois or wood effect to turn this drape brown dresser into a light and fun piece for their bedroom!!!

After priming and painting the dresser in white diamond by Benjamin Moore I got to work faxing the face of the dresser with white satin which reads as a light blue

I used Martha's faux bois tool

Love the new life we gave this dresser!!! If you have a dresser that you want a faux bois finish contact McNamara Design!

Frame + Foto of the Day!

This frame of the day goes great with the Foto of the day of my bestie Claire and her husband Dan! We are relaxing on the porch at the beach this past weekend. So relaxing and fun to catch up!

Getting all dressed up!

This changing table was in need of some much love. When it was previously painted it was never primed so boy and I took the tedious task of having to stripe it. Check out our progress so far...

More after pics to come!!!

Reuse!

Hey Notebook readers! Hope everyone is having a great summer so far! I can't believe it is July already!!! From weddings to the beach to this crazy power outage all of Washington has been dealing with...summer is in full swing!

Last weekend boy and I attend one of my best friend Emily's wedding. We had the adventure of changing venue locations from Columbia Country Club to The Hamilton downtown all due to the storms but we made the best of it...especially the wedding party!!!

Here is a quick tip on how to reuse wedding flowers once you bring them home!

Take the large arrangement and separate the flowers into three vases...giving you more fresh flowers for your home!
